Fallacies in the Origins Debate

Here are some common fallacies, used in the debate on origins.  Scientific methodology,  empiricism,  facts, and Reason are eschewed for these fallacies, which, IMO, is evidence that the belief in universal common ancestry is a propaganda driven religious belief, not a valid scientific theory.

False equivalence.
Micro = Macro!  This is equating the observable, repeatable phenomenon of variability within a family of organisms, to increasing complexity, added traits, and a progression to a distinctly different organism.

Psychobabble Projection.
..When points are glossed over or ignored in favor of speculation about the mental state, motivation, or temperament of the premise maker. It is a combination of Red Herring and poisoning the well. It distracts from the topic, and attacks the credibility of the poster.

Definition Nazi Deflection.
'Define origins!  Define life!' Define micro, macro, species, genomic entropy, or any common term used in this debate.  Well defined terms are important, in any discussion, but the repeated demand for 'Definitions!' is used as an implied 'Gotcha!', and a deflection from the points, whatever they were.

Gotcha! Phrases.
This is when a debating opponent parses a word or phrase, out of context (or some irrelevant side point), and attaches great importance to the implied meaning, even if was not the original intent.  It is similar to a straw man.

Comic Book Villain Meme
'FOOL!' 'LIAR!' 'COWARD!' 'Bow to Zod!' 'Kneel!' 'REFUSE!' 'IGNORE!'  ..a dark, imposing figure, fist clenched, snarling out imperatives in a text balloon, is the image projected, not civil debate between rational people.

Infinite Monkey Theorem.
Given enough time, anything is possible!   Infinite monkeys,  typing on infinite typewriters, would eventually create the works of Shakespeare.  The slimmest of chances are converted to, 'It happened, because it could have!'

Ad Hominem
The most popular fallacy used, by CABs (Common Ancestry Believers). Attention is drawn from the topic, to the person.  'To the man', rather than 'to the topic'. Name callimg, insults, ..anything that puts the focus on the premise MAKER, rather than the premise.

Straw man
Constructing a caricature, usually absurd, of the opponent's points.

Bandwagon
'Everyone knows common ancestry is settled science!' ..as if scientific facts were a popularity contest.

Authority
'All Really Smart People believe in common ancestry!'  Even if it were true (which it is not), scientific methodology is not dependent on the approval of the status quo elites.

Poisoning the Well
..another favorite, among CABs. Casting doubt as to the validity or credibility of the source, without having to address the reasoning or truthfulness of the points made.  'Creo sites!', in particular, engender fear and loathing in CABs.

Red Herring
Distracting with irrelevant or tangential information.
'In the crusades Christians were murderous aggressors! What kind of God allows that?'

Assertion
Time + Mutation = common ancestry! It is a repetitive declaration of belief, with no reasoning,  facts, or scientific methodology presented.  Plausibility and possibility are morphed into, 'It happened!', with no scientific evidence as to 'how?'

Circular Reasoning
'The phylogenetic tree, showing the evolution of living things, proves common ancestry!'  'Evolution is true, because it happened! '

Bluff
'We've given you mountains of evidence!', when no evidence has been given, at all.  Dismissal, claims of rebuttal, and bluff replace  an actual topical reply.

Correlation Implies Causation
 This attempts to use similarity of appearance (looks like!) as proof of descendancy. But morphological similarity can often display wide divergence in the DNA, with no evidence there was every a convergence. Homology and phylogenetic trees are used in this way.

Mob Rule
Most creation vs common ancestry debates are between a single creationist, and hordes of common ancestry Believers. A mob mentality overcomes any sense of reason, propriety, or civility, and dogpiles of ridicule, insults, and mocking result.  'We outnumber you 20 - 1!' ..is a common point in the debate on origins. It is similar to the bandwagon fallacy,  but differs in the mob aggression that results.  It substitutes reason and facts with the implication that a unanimous chorus of 'wrong!' from the CABs proves that the creationist IS wrong. Caricatures are created, accusations made, and a Narrative is promoted, that only deflects from the actual facts of the debate.

Question Barrage
This is flooding the poster with repetitive questions, demands, and diversions, that only deflect from the topic.  The questions are not sincere, but are a tactic, to imply that the premise maker was ambiguous, or 'Ignored!' something,  or 'Refused!' to address some allegedly monumental point in the deflective 'rebuttal'.  Often, 'Liar!' Quickly follows.  It is, at its root and intent, a poison the well fallacy.

Marketplace Children
AKA, the Hop, Frog Fallacy.
Luke 7:31 Jesus went on to say, “To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:“
 ‘We played the pipe for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not cry.’
This is similar to the comic book villain,  in that demands are made of the creationist, that are 'busy work', or arbitrary.  Great  significance is placed upon ignoring these demands, or redirecting to the topic.  'You Ignore!'  You Refuse!' It is a 'Hop when i say Frog!', demand.  'We played the pipe, but you did not dance!!  Outrageous! You MUST dance!'

Tu Quoque
'You do that, too!' 'Pointing out ad hominem IS ad hominem!'

Non Sequitur
Time + Mutation = common ancestry! ..Forming a conclusion not compelled by the facts.

Equivocation
Using vagaries and  ambiguity of definitions to prove a point.  'Species!', and 'evolution!' are used this way.  'Variability = evolution!'  Speciation = evolution!'  Evolution, therefore common ancestry!'

YouTube Proxy
This is a practice of posting a link, as a 'rebuttal!' It is at its root an appeal to authority, implying that some slick multimedia presentation refutes the arguments, whatever they are, by distracting with a video, containing multiple points, that may or may not apply to the current debate. It can also be a red herring, to distract from the subject under debate. It is an argument by proxy, and implies desperation and ignorance, not knowledge, of the subject.

Reductio ad Hitlerum
This is not as common in the common ancestry debate, but is still used occasionally. It is a comparison to Hitler or the Nazis, to project a 'bad!' connotation.
'Hitler believed in God!'

Argument from Ignorance.
 This is claiming that evolution is true, because it has not been proven false. But the burden of proof is on the claimant, not the skeptic, to prove their claims. "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof" ~Marcello Truzzi

Gish Gallop
